So, I always get the box set. For legion we were basically told to "get the pre purchase, give us the serial number of the new one and we'll reimburse you the old code to give a friend!" Which was still essentially translated to "buy it twice, give it to a friend". I ended up doing this with my husband but, the prepurchase for legion didn't matter until a couple weeks before when we found out DH would be available to prepurchasers.
