He's one of my favorite characters. He's one of those emo kids and is the token bullied kid. It feels as if the show is trying to get us to not like him, for some reason.
What are your thoughts about this up and coming ventriloquist?

George is one of my favorites also. The episode, "Vomitrocious!" was a real eye-opener into his character for me; I always knew that he was one of the introverted kids, but I always wondered if he saw himself as "un-popular".

What is up with George's last name? I thought it was Nordgren, but in Season 11 the Matt Damon episode refers to him multiple times as George Lundgren. Any insights?

Maybe Matt Damon messed it up as a joke (in the show, not the real Matt)? I hope it is Nordgren though...I'm already used to it. ^^

I was watching more of Season 11 tonight - in Dancing Fools George is introduced at the dance competition as "George Lundgren" (or however you spell it).

It feels as if the show is trying to get us to not like him, for some reason. What are you talking about? I never got that vibe. George has a lot of bad luck, but that makes him more sympathetic, not less. If anything, it makes him one of the nicest characters on the show. George is one of my favorites also. The episode, "Vomitrocious!" was a real eye-opener into his character for me; I always knew that he was one of the introverted kids, but I always wondered if he saw himself as "un-popular". I fully agree. The scene where Francine and George are talking in the Sugar Bowl is one of the scenes from the show that I can relate to a lot, from Francine's perspective. Not that I'm like Francine was at the start of the episode, but as for that scene and the events that lead up to it, I've been in her shoes many times. Francine: No! I'm serious! I mean, since people laugh at both of us -- George: Nobody laughs at you... ! Francine: Well, not to my face, but I know -- George: They're not laughing at you! Francine: OF COURSE they are! [Fill-in-the-blank bad moment] is twenty times worse than [fill-in-the-blank other bad moment]. Why would they laugh at you and not at -- George: Because you're popular!Francine: Oh. Well... That's not fair!

I don't remember why I thought "the show was trying to get us to not like him" at the time.

I think that George is very nice but misunderstood.
